Rapper Badshah feels it is time for India to be heard globally, and says that he will continue pursuing his focus on putting Indian Music on the world stage.

Badshah, known for hits such as “DJ wale babu”, “Tareefan”, “Pagal” and “Garmi”, has introduced a new version of himself — Badshah 2.0 — and also changed his twitter username to the same.

With Badshah 2.0, the rapper said that he is ready to tell a new story.

“I will continue pursuing my focus on putting Indian Music on a world stage. I strongly believe it’s time for India to be heard globally,” Badshah told IANS.

As Badshah 2.0, he has released “Genda phool”, the video of which will feature actress Jacqueline Fernandez. The song, which comes with a Bengali touch, is themed around Durga Pujo, and is directed by Sneha Shetty Kohli.

Badshah says: ” ‘Genda phool’ is my attempt to pick up a part of my Indian culture, and present it to the world in all its glory. The long forgotten instrument Dotara, the folk language and melody, the colours, the dance, the flowers in the video. I truly believe these are aspects of India that are gorgeous and should be represented, to make people Groove to a whole new groove and just be happy”.

“This is the first time I have played with a new language on my single. The instrumentation has been kept as folk as it can be. In fact the original instrument where the song starts is called a DoTara, it’s a two string instrument that was used by the Bauls of Bengal, when they used to travel from village to village, singing their stories. ‘Genda phool’ is an amalgamation of folk melody with urban tunes and programming and has one purpose – To make you dance,” he added.

Asked what’s next for him, he said: “A brand new sound. A brand new presentation for my live performances. Some great new music. And a constant prayer for the world to be safe and be back.on its feet soon.”

British-Indian businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra has claimed in an interview that his ex-wife Kavita allegedly had an affair while she was married to him, with his sister’s husband. He cited the affair as the reason of divorce between him and his first wife.

“We were living in one house with my mum, dad and my sister and her husband had moved over from India to try and settle in the UK. She (ex-wife) grew very close to my ex-brother-in-law spending more and more time with him especially when I was out on business trips. Many of my family and even my driver would say we sense something fishy between these two and I would never believe it. I gave my ex-wife the benefit of doubt…” Kundra told Pinkvilla in an interview.

“The relationship that my wife and ex-brother-in-law Vansh were sharing, going out for work together meeting and sitting in the same room so often, etc. I guess my sister felt it best to move back,” he further told the portal.

Kundra’s allegation comes after an old interview of Kavita went viral, where the ex-wife is seen accusing Shilpa Shetty of breaking her marriage.

Quizzed how his second wife Shilpa has reacted to the resurfaced video, Kundra claimed: “I was very angry. She again said ignore, don’t worry. But I decided enough is enough she is not even aware I have given this interview I am doing this because I think the truth finally needs to be told.”

Kundra has a daughter with his ex-wife, with whom he parted ways in 2006. The businessman married Shilpa in 2009 and the couple has a son and a daughter.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who is Unicef’s celebrity advocate for their global campaign EVAC (Ending Violence Against Children), has spoken about the practice of child labour as a total violation of child rights, on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour on Saturday,

“Child labour robs children of their childhood and is a complete violation of their rights. Covid-19 has made children, especially girls and migrant children, more vulnerable, exposing them to greater risks. Closure of schools, increased violence at home, death of parents, and job loss within families is driving children to child labour,” Ayushmann said.

“Join hands to prevent this from happening. Advocate for social protection schemes for the poorest families. Highlight that all children should safely go back to schools when they re-open. Dial ChildLine 1098 if you see any child in distress,” he appealed to all.
