Hrithik Roshan to star in Indian version of ‘The Night Manager’

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan will lead the Indian adaptation of popular series, The Night Manager. Hrithik will play an Indian version of the Jonathan Pine character, essayed by Tom Hiddleston in the original 2016 limited series based on the 1993 novel by John Le Carre.

The Indian version will start shooting in Mumbai in April. The team plans to go to international locations once travel becomes easier, according to variety.com,

Sandeep Modi, who co-created and co-directed hit series Aarya last year, will direct the series.

Executives close to the project shared that an official announcement will be out soon. The Indian version is expected to stream on Disney+ Hotstar. 

The story follows the night manager of a luxury hotel, a former soldier, who is recruited by a government espionage organisation, to infiltrate the inner circle of an arms dealer.

The original English series starring Hiddleston was adapted by David Farr and directed by Susanne Bier. Alongside Hiddleston, the cast included Olivia Colman, Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debicki and Tom Hollander. The series won several Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Primetime Emmys.

The Indian edition starring Hrithik will be produced by Banijay Asia, At the moment, the actor’s didn’t respond to the reports, while Banijay UK and Banijay Asia have declined to officially comment.

Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s wife files domestic violence case against him

Shalini Talwar, the wife of rapper and music composer Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, filed a case of domestic violence against him at the Tis Hazari courts here on Tuesday.

Taking cognisance of the complaint, which runs into 118 pages, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh issued a notice to Honey Singh to appear before her on August 28.

The magistrate also passed interim orders restraining the rapper from disposing off property that he jointly owned with his wife as well as her ‘Streedhan’.

The case has been filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.

Initially notorious for promoting misogyny and drug abuse in his Punjabi rap numbers, Honey Singh, who grew up and lives in Delhi, is now better known for his work in mainstream films such as ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’.

Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor leave for Delhi for ‘Bell Bottom’ trailer launch

 Actors Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor were spotted at the international airport here on Tuesday, as they left for Delhi to launch the trailer of their upcoming film ‘Bell Bottom’.

This will be the first big film promotion taking place in New Delhi from the time the Covid-19 pandemic started.

Producers Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackky Bhagnani were also spotted leaving for the capital.

Akshay was also accompanied by wife Twinkle Khanna, son Aarav and daughter Nitara.

Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ to release this year on Christmas

Actor Allu Arjun’s much awaited film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ has been locked for a Christmas release this year.

Confirming the news, producers Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers said in a joint statement: “‘Pushpa’ is an action-packed story that has moments that tug at the heart and filming it has been a joyride.”

The added: “The film has already created a lot of buzz among the audiences and we are thrilled to announce that the first part will get a Christmas release this year. We can’t wait for the fans to watch it and shower their never ending love to the entire team of ‘Pushpa’. We have decided to release the second part of the movie in the year 2022.”

The film was trending on social media on Monday, after the teaser of its first track ‘Jaago Jango bakre’ was released. The song will be releasing in five different languages.

The film starring, Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, will release in two parts. While the first part is set to release on Christmas this year, the next part is scheduled to release in 2022.
