Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana is amazed, amused and confused with the latest literary work of his wife Tahira Kashyap.
Tahira, author-filmmaker, is out with her new book “The 12 Commandments Of Being A Woman”.
Asked about Ayushmann’s reaction to the book, Tahira told IANS via Twitter: “Honestly, speaking, whatever I write, I do share it with him. So I remember his reactions. At times he would his eyebrows, and we all know he has bushy eyebrows. So they would raise in amazement and amusement as well.”
“Often his lips would twirl. He would find a lot of things funny, but many times, after reading a couple of chapters, he actually said ‘do you want to write all this? It was between the both of us’, ‘why does it need to reach the book and the pages of the book’,” she shared.
“That’s what I find really sweet about a relationship. We do have an opinion about each other’s work and we do have our vishesh tippani (special advice) to give. But ultimately, we let the other person breathe and be,” added Tahira while responding to IANS during a live reading session on Twitter.
“The 12 Commandments Of Being A Woman” is a quirky take towards the experiences of being and becoming a woman.
Tahira made her debut as a writer in 2011 with “I Promise” followed by her next “Souled Out”. She has also co-authored husband Ayushmann’s biography “Cracking The Code: My Journey In Bollywood”.
Ayushmann Khurrana: What worked for me is I decided to swim against the tide
Acclaimed actor Ayushamnn Khurrana is also a brand today. He attributes his success to his ability to be himself.
“I believe what has worked for me is that I decided to swim against the tide and was totally myself. I stayed true to who I am in real life while I was at it,” he said.
The actor says he believed that India was ready to see a different kind of entertaining cinema that was real, relatable and taboo-breaking “because I was ready to see such cinema, and I knew of many people who were having the same dialogue with me”.
Ayushmann says he is fortunate that people have loved his brand of cinema, which has hugely contributed to his equity.
“I believed that India wanted to bring out and talk about societal issues openly. I’m fortunate that the audience loved my brand of cinema, engaged and participated with my beliefs. What people perceive my equity to be today, comes from me being unafraid about my choices as a human being. If I wasn’t the man who believed in the things that I have raised my voice for, people would have sensed a disconnect,” he said.
The National Award-winning actor says his brand of cinema is a mirror image of his personality in real life.
“My films are an extension of my personality, my beliefs, my vision for my country. I think people understand that I want to do my best for society, for my fellow citizens and I don’t want to fail them ever.” he mentioned.
Ayushamann says he is going through the best time in his life.
“I definitely think that I’m going through the best phase of my career and I want this phase to continue for a long time,” admitted the actor.
He is rightfully enjoying his bonafide star status today. “It feels great because I know how much hard work I had to put in to be where I’m today. It is hugely humbling to see people believe in me and have faith in the kind of content that I stand for. It’s gratifying to see people relate to my journey because most of India go through the same drill while aspiring to find success,” he said.
“I’m one of them, I will always be one of them and bring out their stories and lives in the form of cinema because I’m deeply inspired by the heroism of the self-made, idealistic, inclusive people of India,” Ayushmann summed up.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas: My upbringing an amalgamation of two India’s, traditional and modern
Global icon and Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas says her upbringing has played a crucial role in shaping her personality.
“I am a product of traditional India and its ancient wisdom, and modern India and its urban bustle. My upbringing was always an amalgamation of the two Indias and, just as much, of East and West,” she said.
The actress is gearing up for her upcoming Netflix release The White Tiger along with Rajkummar Rao, and Robert Rodriguez’s superhero film We Can Be Heroes.
Priyanka’s memoir, Unfinished: A Memoir, is all set to release in January 2021.
Actress Ananya Panday: I want to try hardcore action now
Budding star and happening star kid Ananya Panday started her career only last year, but she has already bagged four films and several ad-films. She considers finding a fan-base in such a short time is motivational rather than a matter of pressure.
“One of the the interesting parts about expectation and pressure is these things motivate me. I have a lot of gratitude for that because it is just the beginning of my career, I am just a few films old and I have managed to build a fan following. When I go to public events they come up to me and ask me to say a dialogue or ask for a selfie. I just love all of that! They expect to deliver my best and nothing could be more motivating than that!” Ananya told IANS.
“I chose to become an actor, so I am living my dream. For an actor, we always need audience, and when we have the support from them, what else do we need?” smiled the actress, who was launched by Karan Johar last year opposite Tiger Shroff in “Student Of The Year 2”.
Since then, actor Chunky Pandey’s 22-years-old daughter has been on a dream run. In about a year and half since her debut release, Ananya has already had two more releases — “Pati Patni Aur Woh” co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar, and the digitally-released “Khaali Peeli” opposite Ishaan Khatter.
She has also appeared in several ad-films, and worked with Anurag Kashyap is one of them. In her own words, there are many exciting projects lined up for her, too.
“I am very excited that there is a variety of projects in my pipeline. On one hand, I am doing Shakun (Batra)’s next with Deepika (Padukone) and Siddhant (Chaturvedi) and our Goa schedule was so much fun! I am so looking forward to that (film) because I love both of my co-stars. I am also doing Puri Jagannadh sir’s directorial with Vijay Deverakonda and that is a different world altogether,” she said.
“I am so excited about the variety I am getting! (I) cannot wait to share everything with my fans!” laughed Ananya.
With so much already happening in her fledgling career, what would be her dream role? “I want to try something in hardcore action now!” she replied.
