Delhi reports 55 dengue cases this year: MCD

The national capital this year, so far, has reported 55 cases of dengue, out of which three were detected in August, says a report by the municipal corporations (MCD) on Monday. However, no death due to dengue has been reported so far.

According to the municipal report, Delhi saw 171 cases in 2016, 251 in 2017, 64 in 2018, 47 in 2019 and 35 in 2020.

The dengue mosquitoes are known to breed in clean and stagnant water.

Detailed figures for this year have been shared in the report. According to the data, not a single case came in the month of January, while in February, 2 cases were registered and in March, 5 cases were reported.

Apart from this, 10 cases were registered in April, 12 in May, 7 in June and 16 in July.

The number of dengue cases between January 1 and August 7 is the highest this year since 2018.

Apart from dengue, cases of malaria and chikungunya have also been detected in Delhi. The report says, 21 cases of malaria and 18 cases of chikungunya have been reported in the capital city this year.

Civic bodies in Delhi are running awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of the vector-borne diseases.

Mumbai: Technical snag at Andheri station, Western railway locals delayed by 15-20 minutes

 A technical point failure at Andheri station has resulted into a delay in Western railway local trains by 15 to 20 minutes. The technical failure has caused delay to several commuters at peak hours on Tuesday morning.

The Divisional Railway Manager for Mumbai Division of Western Railway has tweeted on its Twitter handle informing the commuters about the said delay saying, “Due to technical failure at Andheri station all UP fast local trains are running 10-15 minutes late today (29.11.2022) Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Maharashtra: 48-year-old woman dies after part of foot over-bridge collapses at Balharshah railway station

A 48-year-old woman died and 12 persons were injured as they fell on a railway track after some part of a foot over-bridge (FOB) collapsed at a railway station in Chandrapur district of eastern Maharashtra on Sunday, officials said.

The incident occurred at Balharshah junction railway station in Ballarpur town, located around 150 km from Nagpur, at 5.10 pm, they said.

The FOB where the incident took place is connected to platform number 1 and 2 of the station under Nagpur division of the Central Railway (CR).

“A large number of passengers were using the FOB in order to catch a Pune-bound train when a part of it suddenly caved in. As a result, 13 people fell around 20 feet down on the railway track,” an official of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said.

The injured were taken to the Ballarpur Rural Hospital and some of them were later shifted to Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and a private hospital, the district information office said.

“Of the two seriously injured, Neelima Rangari, a 48-year-old woman, died at a private hospital while undergoing treatment and another person is in the intensive care unit (ICU) there,” Chandrapur district collector Vinay Gowda said

5 are being treat at the hospital, others discharged

Five are being treated at the GMCH, while others were discharged after preliminary treatment, he said.

Rangari, a local resident, was a teacher, police said.

According to the CR, the pre-cast slab of the FOB connecting platform number 1 and 2 of the railway station collapsed, but the remaining portion of the bridge is intact.

The railway authorities announced a financial aid of Rs one lakh for the grievously-injured persons and Rs 50,000 for other injured, CR’s chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar said.

Ballarpur is around 12 km away from Chandrapur district headquarters.

Chandrapur Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar directed the hospital authorities to provide all necessary medical aid to the injured persons and ordered an investigation into the incident, the administration said.

This meeting which is to be held after two years in Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Its date 16,17,18 December 2022 has been announced. The bodies will start on the first day i.e. (16 December) 2022 immediately after Friday prayers at around 3 PM which will be for ladies only. And it will end at 9 pm.
Then 17 and 18 will be for men.

You should also know that this gathering will be the 29th (29th) gathering so far.
