Bigg Boss 14: Twitterati support Rahul Vaidya after Pavitra’s misogyny charge

A section of social media users came out in support of singer Rahul Vaidya after actress Pavitra Punia accused him of passing misogynistic remarks on her in a recent episode of Bigg Boss 14.

Pavitra had a major fight with Rahul after she was told that latter was telling other inmates that she had a crush on Abhinav Shukla. The use of “crush” word did not go down well with Pavitra.

“Tumhare jaise mard hote hain jo auraton pe lanchhan lagaate hain (men like you defame women),” Pavitra said during her spat with Rahul.

However, Pavitra’s behavior has irked a lot of people. Many social media users feel that she has unnecessarily picked up a fight.

“The way this man is unapologetic and proud of it because he knows he isn’t wrong,” a user tweeted about Rahul.

“I really failed to understand where was Rahul wrong, he frankly said Pavitra has crush which she herself said previously. The exaggeration from Pavitra was really not needed and is character assassination,” another user tweeted.

“Everyone should learn from #PavitraPunia how to play woman card,” a Twitter user said.

Many users compared Rahul to “Bigg Boss 8” winner Gautam Gulati.

“Rahul is the new Gautam Gulati. He is a lone warrior,” a user praised.

“Bigg Boss 14” airs on Colors TV.

Veteran Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia was initially hesitant to be part of the new Christopher Nolan biggie, Tenet. However, being a part of the big-budget Hollywood film has instilled a new sense of confidence and belief in her and her craft.

“My process of working is fear and nervousness. I don’t know how the process unfolds after that,” Dimple told IANS, adding that she then relies on her “instinct and the director completely”.

“My takeaway (after working in the film) is a hell of a lot. It has completely changed my mental make-up. It has made me more confident, wanting to do better roles, work more and made me more positive. It has made me believe in myself finally — Nolan ke saath kaam kiya hai (have worked with Nolan)! It is a beautiful dream that has come true,” she added.

Dubbed as “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage”, Nolan’s new film takes one on a thrilling time-bending mission with two secret agents, essayed by Robert Pattinson and John David Washington.

In the film, Dimple is seen as Priya, who is crucial to the narrative. Her character emerges as deadly person, splashed with various shades of grey.

“It was lovely (exploring the shades of grey). It was a very lovely surprise, and the way it was written. It is written so beautifully that half the battle is won right there,” said the actress, who was discovered at age 14 by Raj Kapoor, and entered the industry with “Bobby” in 1973.

Talking about Nolan, the 63-year-old star said: “I was hesitating to do the film because I was not comfortable with myself and my capabilities but after doing a Nolan film, I (realised I) didn’t have to worry because he takes care of everything.”

“Tenet” was originally scheduled to release in July this year, but got postponed several times due to the ongoing pandemic. The film is now scheduled to release in India on December 4.

“I hope people go to the cinema and see the film. It is absolutely brilliant, the action sequences are fantastic. The drama has to be seen on the big screen. You can’t enjoy it on pirated version or small screen,” said the actress.

The Warner Bros. Pictures also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Caine, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Clemence Poesy. It has been shot across seven countries — India, the US, the UK, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, and Norway. The film will be available to the Indian audience in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

Choreographer Remo D’Souza: Feel compassionate for strugglers because I’ve been there

Remo-DSouza

Choreographer Remo D’Souza says he feels compassionate towards struggling artistes because he has been there and faced everything in the initial part of his career.

“I feel more compassionate for budding talents and strugglers because I have been there, know exactly how it feels as a talented youngster without the right opportunity or a series of rejections. With years of hard work and appreciation I have created my space, so I am quite focused on giving chance to new talent. I started doing that with dancers but then I realised that songs are an integral part of our dance, and budding singers also face the same struggle as dancers and choreographers,” Remo told IANS.

He recently appeared in the music video of the song, Log kya kahenge, and he says his effort in front of the camera is all about promoting budding singers.

“I want to encourage singers now. The song in the video ‘Log kya kahenge’ is a result of that,” he said, adding: “Abhinav (Shekhar) is a very talented singer and rapper. This was the first time I was appearing in a dance video before the camera as a dancer because usually I am a choreographer all my life and I make people dance!”

The song is written and sung by Abhinav Shekhar who also appeared in the video.

So, how was the shift, from behind the camera to facing it? “Initially it was weird. Rahul Shetty worked on it, and I followed his instruction on dance. Rahul has trained under me and now he is choreographing for me. It is a proud moment for me as a mentor. Eventually, I also want to work with new actors,” Remo signed off.
