Actor Rahul Roy responding to treatment, recovering

Bollywood actor Rahul Roy, who suffered a brain stroke last week, is recovering. The 52-year-old actor, who is currently hospitalised, has reportedly started walking and is also doing physio excercises.

“Rahul has started eating. He is on a light diet to begin with. There is a small clot that is still there. It will be dissolved with thinners. Of course, the entire process will take time but so far so good,” the actor’s friend, producer Ashwani Kumar, told E Times.

In the last week of November, Roy suffered brain stroke while shooting for his forthcoming film “LAC: Live The Battle” in Kargil. The actor, who shot to overnight stardom with his debut film “Aashiqui” in 1990, was initially rushed from Kargil to Srinagar and then to Mumbai, where he is presently undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital.

ED seeks details of FIR, banking records of Kundra in porn case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is all set to launch a probe into the alleged financial dealings of Raj Kundra, the businessman husband of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, who has been arrested by the Mumbai police as the prime accused in a pornographic films racket case.

According to senior ED officials familiar with the development, the financial probe agency has sought the copy of the FIR from the Mumbai Crime Branch.

An official of the ED said that the agency has also sought the details of the banking transactions of Kundra related to Hotshots and BollyFame.

The official said that before filing a case, the ED will also check financial transactions in other countries into the bank accounts of Kundra.

Earlier in the day, Kundra was sent to judicial custody till August 10 by a Mumbai court.

In a major swoop, the Mumbai Police arrested Kundra on July 19 for his alleged role in a sensational case of producing and distributing pornographic content through mobile applications.

Soon after his arrest, Kundra was remanded to police custody till July 23, which was extended till July 27.

The police also raided Kundra’s home in Juhu last Friday and recorded the statement of Shilpa Shetty, besides summoning others.

The pornography case first surfaced in February this year.

Kundra has been charged with offences under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, IT Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Sushant Singh Rajput tribute film to release in theatres after Delhi HC denies stay

The Delhi High Court has again denied a stay on the movie ‘Nyay The Justice’ based on Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.

Advocate Vikas Singh battled for an injunction however the judge said no relief was granted to Sushant Singh Rajput and hence the film is ready for release.

‘Nyay The Justice’ is written and directed by Dilip Gulati, produced by Sarla A. Saraogi and Rahul Sharma.

“We believed justice would be served through the system and we are very happy with the verdict. We have always mentioned that this film is not being made to ride on the events and make money, but we wanted the truth to come out and justice being served,” producer Rahul Sharma told IANS.

He further added, the film will release once the theatres are reopened.

The film stars Zuber Khan and Shreya Shukla in lead roles, Aman Verma as ED chief, Asrani as Mahinder Singh’s Father, Shakti Kapoor as NCB Chief, Kiran Kumar as Advocate of Mahinder’s father, Anant Jog as Mumbai Police Commissioner, Anwar Fatehan as Bihar Police Commissioner, Sudha Chandran as CBI chief and other actors in pivotal roles.
